Body Shock is a class that is perfect for you if you're out of shape, haven't got a lot of time to exercise during the week and want to get the greatest results in the quickest time possible.

By utilising a new way of exercising called High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) you'll be able to build muscle and burn fat fast and all of this will be achieved without the use of any long boring cardio sessions!

I'll be leading the workout and I'll also be motivating you to workout consistently so that you achieve your goals. Weight loss can be challenging and that's why I started this class, so that I can meet you half way. If I'm there to workout with you, all you have to do is show up and I'll guide you through the rest.

So now that we know how effective this new way of exercising is, let's get down to the real issue.

What's the hardest part of working out? the beginning, the middle or the end?

If you can take care of the beginning which is showing up to the class, I'll assist you through the middle and all the way to the fininish line which will be your ideal physique!

First, let's be honest, you've probably tried countless diets or weightloss plans that just haven't worked in the past and that may have left you feeling demotivated. That's ok, it's already a great start that you were willing to give it a go. The difference with the Body Shock plan is that I'll always be there to assist you. Two times a week with workouts and further coaching if that's what's necessary to help you succeed.

So don't throw out those old pairs of jeans that you have in your closet just yet, there's still hope to get back into them! Instead, keep them as motivation and a marker of your success. By achieving tangeable goals, we see the distance we have covered and it reinforces good habits because they have provided us with the reward of something real. This reinforces our belief that we can succeed and it pushes us towards better habits.

let me me share with you a little information about the effectiveness of the workouts we'll be doing together:

In a 1994 study, two groups were used to test the effectiveness of HIIT cardio versus slow steady-state. One group was asked to perform 15-week of HIIT cardio while the slow steady-state group was asked to complete 20-weeks of cardio. At the end of the study, the slow steady-state group burned 15,000 more calories than the HIIT group. However, the HIIT group burned more body fat and in a shorter timeframe.

Another group of researchers conducted a similar study in 2001 where a slow steady-state group and HIIT cardio group were asked to perform their respective forms of cardio over an eight-week duration. At the end of the eight weeks, the group who utilized the HIIT style of cardio shed two percent body fat, while the slow steady-state group did not lose any body fat.

It was also noted that those who were in the HIIT group burned on average around 100 more calories per day compared to the slow steady-state group when tested 24 hours after the conclusion of a cardio session. This shows HIIT participants can burn more calories at rest when using this style of cardio.

HIIT cardio can also be beneficial in the short-term as well. In 2007, a study was published looking at females and how HIIT cardio could improve fat loss. Within a two-week timeframe, the researchers asked the young women in the study if they could perform seven HIIT sessions. When the study was complete, researchers found that there was a 30% increase in fat oxidation for all of the subjects who participated.

Yet another study on HIIT cardio was conducted and showed that those individuals who used a stationary bicycle for their session were able to burn significantly more calories at rest for the next 24 hours than their counterpart who conducted a slow steady-state form of cardio.
